The major project of Star in Vietnam is the AMI/AMR (Advanced Metering Infrastructure/ Automatic Meter Reading) centralized meter reading system. This is the first-ever and the greatest smart AMI/AMR centralized meter reading system deployed by Vietnam Electricity (EVN). This system covers cities of all tiers and rural areas across the south, middle and north of the country. The five EVN subsidiary power corporations, NPC, SPC, CPC, HNPC, and HCMPC are all involved. Over 3,000,000 smart energy meters, HES (Head-end System) and MDMS (Meter Data Management System) are all integrated into this system. 

In 2011, Star Instrument customized the AMI-RF centralized meter reading solution for Vietnam according to the requirements of EVN. This system solution perfectly eliminates the hazards and reduces labor cost and revenue loss brought by manual meter reading. Meanwhile it also calculates power loss, a matter which utilities care a lot. Through pilot orders to the bulk supply, the deployment scale was expanded across rural areas, cities and provinces in the last decade.

Star Instrument also deployed the PLC and GPRS/3G systems in Vietnam, as a continuation of successful cooperation. No matter what installation environment and conditions our clients require, we have the right solution for them.
